UK Data Service Census Support Census Geography course

The UK Data Service Census Support is holding an introduction to using UK census data geographically through a one-day course with a series of presentations and hands-on practical exercises.

During this course, on Thursday 6 June 2013 between 09.30 and 16.00, you will:

  • learn about UK census datasets and online tools which are available through UK Data Service Census Support
  • create maps and other geographical visualisations from 2011 UK census data
  • compare census data with other geographical datasets
  • explore some of the issues that arise when comparing 2011 UK census data with data from past UK censuses

There is no charge for this event. The course is open to students or members of staff from UK institutions of higher or further education registered with the UK Data Service.

No prior experience in using census or geographical data is assumed but participants should be familiar with the Microsoft Windows environment.

Resources
